JUNE 2021: leaf HOSPITALITY, one of the UK’s leading hotel management companies for branded hotels, has won the management contract for DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City at Sheffield United Football Club’s Bramall Lane Stadium. The hotel is expected to welcome guests later this year following a franchise agreement between Hilton and the Club.

Built in 2008, the hotel will convert under DoubleTree by Hilton, and join leaf’s fast-growing Hotel Management portfolio that currently includes DoubleTree by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton branded properties across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire.

For leaf Managing Director, Richard Farrar, it’s a win close to his heart with family connections to the city. Farrar comments “This particular addition to our portfolio is particularly special for me, in many ways like a homecoming back to a City very close to my heart. The hotel overlooks the site where my Grandparents used to run a small corner shop just across from Bramall Lane, you can actually see it from the hotel. It’s great to be back in Sheffield and I’m really proud of this win for our team and looking forward to working with the Club to rebrand and reposition the hotel to its rightful league and at the heart of the local community”.

The vision for the property is for it to become the leading upscale hotel in the city with a renowned, global hotel brand above the doors. When completed later this year, Double Tree by Hilton Sheffield City will be the third of Hilton’s properties in the area, joining the Double Tree by Hilton Sheffield Park and Hampton by Hilton Sheffield. The 155-room hotel will include a penthouse suite, fitness facilities and banqueting options for up to 400 guests.

DoubleTree by Hilton’s portfolio of upscale hotels is growing rapidly and now includes more than 600 hotels in 50 countries and territories. Recent openings include DoubleTree by Hilton Frankfurt Niederrad, DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti and DoubleTree by Hilton Ankara Incek.

The hotel is aiming to reopen its doors in 2021 and will be located at Bramall Lane Football Stadium, Sheffield S2 4SU.
