This week, Holiday Inn Express Grimsby is celebrating a special milestone, 10 years of welcoming guests to the heart of the town.
Since opening its doors in 2015, the 80-bedroom hotel on Wellowgate has hosted more than 250,000 guests, becoming a trusted choice for business and leisure travellers visiting the vibrant coastal community.
To mark the anniversary, the team is hosting a week of activities for colleagues and the local community, from a seaside-themed celebration event and team quiz, to a charity raffle. In true Grimsby spirit, the team is also collecting food donations in support of the local food bank as part of their community give-back day.
Hotel Manager Kyle Danby, who first joined the hotel as a Food & Beverage Assistant on opening day, now leads the team.
It’s been an incredible journey watching this hotel grow from the ground up. I’ve had the privilege of seeing the team come together over the years to create something truly special. This anniversary isn’t just about a building, it’s about the people – our dedicated colleagues and loyal guests – who make it feel like home every day.
Community spirit has always been at the heart of the Holiday Inn Express Grimsby team. Over the years, they’ve proudly supported local and national causes including Mind and The Health Tree Foundation, often through creative fundraising efforts, from charity runs and sponsored silences, to waxing challenges and even a tutu-clad aerobics class.
A decade on, the hotel remains committed to its promise of simple, smart travel – offering guests a great night’s sleep, free Wi-Fi, and the warm, genuine hospitality that has defined the last 10 years.
